No, not one of those more recent phenomenons in the USA of paying to do puzzles and make it out or figure out the mystery before time.
Truth be told I’m not a fan of those because my anxiety raises so high. Like it seems so Saw like, that even if it is harmless, I still get creeped out.
To each their own.
There are two rooms in this house that I haven’t shared yet. Our bedroom and kitchen. Except one changes today, as I’ve never photographed our kitchen and it’s basically all packed up now and gone. Whoops!
However probably my favorite was our bedroom. It no longer looks like this, but it’s sorely missed.
It was a room that I knew would look immediately different when our belongings arrived. We had our bed and our mattress, but everything else, minus one chair, was ours.
Two of my proudest realizations in this room was, to switch the orientation of the bed from which it was initially set up, as the original way had us facing a window that faces a wall. And to cover the chair in the bedroom for obvious reasons. You’ll see below.
I’m just not a fan of embassy furniture. I never will be.
But alas, this room caused me grief and relief. Grief that even in the peace of that room, I could hear the worst construction noise for the first year and eight months of our two years here. And yet, it felt ethereal.

I took these photo’s pre-baby. How it was left before we returned with her.
We have a Floyd bed, which is extremely low to the ground, so having her basket and now floor mattress on the floor is better for our backs instead of having to get up and then bend over to retrieve her from a crib.

Since I switched the bed to the opposite wall, I needed a contrast and something to hide the window the best I could. We did not have a headboard, so I used a green curtain instead of white to give the space a different look.

Say what you will about printed rugs, but I loved the colors in this Loloi Wynter rug so much. While the style of our room next will be different, this rug will join us again. I can’t wait to see how it looks (or if it’ll even fit) in our new place.
Fingers crossed.

Not the prettiest job, but I “no-sew” slipcovered the chair with painters canvas and upholstery tacks. Worked perfectly for our time here. Now, the chair is exposed in all it’s glory. I’ll let you be the judge on which style you prefer, but for me, I think my version is better.

The whole chair is this plaid.
Ultimately, I just wish that the furniture would match the surroundings. This is a tropical area, so I just believe the furniture should be a little lighter, but what do I know? I’m just an EFM 🙂
5 more sleeps in this room. It’s hard to believe, but I believe we’re ready.
To eat Portillos or Chipotle upon arrival? This is what I’m thinking about nowadays.
Maybe I’ll share my mood boards for our next place?
Time will decide.
Best,
Carrie
